The Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) has demolished 872 illegal structures across multiple districts between March 22 and September 5, following court orders. Major operations took place in District Central, where 424 illegal constructions were removed. Other districts also saw significant action, with 157 demolitions in District East, 86 in District South, 28 in District Korangi, 23 in District West, 6 in District Malir, 2 in District Keamari, 4 in industrial areas, and 142 in Hyderabad Region.

The operations were carried out under the supervision of SBCA Director-General Abdul Rasheed Solangi. In District Central, the most affected area, demolitions were concentrated in Nazimabad, Paposh Nagar, and surrounding localities. Illegal structures, including fourth-floor RCC roofs and partition walls, were brought down. Additional actions took place in Federal B. Area, Gulshan Iqbal, and Model Colony, where unauthorized extensions, extra floors, and illegal shops were dismantled.

In Liaquatabad, under-construction fourth-floor buildings were demolished, while illegal third-floor structures in BE Area were partially removed due to residents still occupying the properties. Demolition efforts in District East focused on illegal second and third-floor constructions in Karachi Administrative Society and Overseas Society. In District South, actions were taken against illegal shops and RCC columns in Saddar and Pakistan Chowk, while unauthorized constructions in District Malir were sealed.

Utility connections were severed at various sites to prevent further illegal usage, and local law enforcement, along with the SBCA police force, provided security during the demolitions. All operations were overseen by Deputy and Assistant Directors, alongside Demolition Officers, to ensure the successful execution of the court-ordered removals. The SBCA’s campaign aims to uphold the rule of law and restore the legal use of land in the region, with ongoing efforts expected in the coming months.
