A 1362-member delegation of project employees of the Department of Agriculture Water Management Wing called on Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Parvaiz Elahi in the Assembly Chamber.

Chaudhry Parvaiz Elahi said that instead of recruiting new employees, they should benefit from the experience of old trained employees. There is already a problem of employment in the country.

The government should address the salary problem and other issues of the old experienced employees of the Department of Agriculture and Water Management on priority basis. Ch Parvaiz Elahi said that he would do his best to solve the problems of the affected employees of the Agriculture Department.

The representatives of the delegation requested the Speaker to provide security to their jobs and prevent them from becoming unemployed. They said that they have been working on the project of PIPIP, a subsidiary of the department, now that the project is over, now despite its promise the government is not transferring 1362 employees to the National Program for Improvement Water Courses-II of the Agriculture Department.

They further requested that the summary sent to the Punjab Cabinet in this regard be approved.

Ch Parvaiz Elahi said that according to my advice, if the old trained staff had been employed in Rawalpindi, dengue would not have proved to be so deadly. Do not make such a mistake again.

When dengue hit Rawalpindi, the old employees were fired and new ones were recruited who lacked experience which caused a lot of damage.
