Congo virus is caused by ticks which inhabit the skin of animals. Humans fall victim to Congo virus suddenly after ticks bite them. Besides this, it also spreads from animals’ blood. This virus in turn, causes severe fever and bleeding, sometimes leading to death. Latest reports disclose that Congo virus has claimed 8 lives in Sindh province within first six months of 2019. In fact, Eid Ul Uzha is also around the corner and millions of sacrificial animals will be slaughtered during 3 days of Eid. Such a big sacrifice of animals could likely result in further spread of this virus.
Thus, relevant authorities are humbly requested to take necessary measures for responding to possible outbreak of the virus. In addition to this, Ministry of Health should despatch teams for disseminating awareness about the Congo virus to ensure the safety of people from this deadly virus.
