A high-level Russian delegation, led by Albert P. Khorev, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Pakistan, visited Islamabad Model College for Boys (IMCB) I-8/3, where the Russian language courses have been launched in collaboration with NAVTTC and NUML.
The visit reaffirmed the commitment to strengthening the strategic partnership between Pakistan and the Russian Federation, particularly in education and skills development.
The delegation comprised 38 senior officials attending the Pakistan–Russia Intergovernmental Commission meetings.
Mr. Junaid Akhlaq, Director General, Federal Directorate of Education (FDE), received the delegation and emphasized the importance of international language learning for promoting global academic and cultural connectivity.
Albert P. Khorev and Ms. Elena M. Grudinina, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in expanding Russian language education and reiterated support for enhanced academic collaboration, including scholarship opportunities for Pakistani students.
Mr. Nadeem Mahbub, Federal Secretary, Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training (MoFEPT), highlighted the growing cooperation between the two nations in vocational training, skills development, and educational exchange, acknowledging students’ keen interest and the role of such initiatives in nurturing long-term bilateral linkages.
The Russian Ambassador also interacted with the Pakistani Abilympics team, recognizing their achievements and reaffirming joint efforts to empower youth through special skills development.
