Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Senator Sirajul Haq has expressed regret over the non-serious attitude of the rulers to tackle the menace of cornonavirus pandemic in the country.
On one side, Senator Sirajul Haq said while addressing press conference along with leaders of YDA at Mansoora on Tuesday, the prime minister was in a habit of issuing confused statements about the spread of virus while on the other side the ministers were declaring the masses ignorant.
“Central and Punjab governments have this year decreased the allocations for the health sector as compared to the previous year. The act of the government is beyond understanding,” lamented the JI chief.
Hospitals were running out of capacity and doctors were not bring provided the compulsory personal protective equipments, he said, asking the rulers to at least now adopt responsible attitude and address the issues of the doctors and paramedics on immediate basis.
He regretted the medicines used for treatment of Cronavirus were disappearing from the market, hospitals were without ventilators and masses were left on the mercy of the circumstances.
It was irony that numbers of patients were decreasing worldwide while the infection was spreading rapidly in Pakistan, he said, adding the rulers had wasted three months of the nation and failed to develop any policy to curb the pandemic.
To a question, he said he contacted the leaders of the different political parties to develop a unanimous agenda on the budget.
The delegation led by Dr. Shoaib Niazi and Dr. Shakeel briefed Senator Sirajul Haq about the prevailing situation of the pandemic and thanked the JI for raising voice in support of their demands.
