Rs 5b being ploughed to upscale Ehsaas IFL scheme

The scope of Ehsaas Interest Free Loan (IFL) programme is being expanded through providing an additional amount of five billion rupees by the government.

This was revealed during a review meeting convened by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Social Protection and Poverty Alleviation with the Ehsaas’ executing agency, Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF).

The meeting assessed the progress of the IFL in 110 existing districts and discussed the roadmap to upscale programme across 28 new districts in lagging regions.

Launched in July 2019, Ehsaas IFL is the country’s biggest programme for poverty graduation, which will impact 14.7 million vulnerable people in four years with half of them women including youth, persons with special needs, transgender, minorities and marginalised communities.—APP
