Two robbers were shot dead and as many sustained gunshot wounds when their accomplices attempted to rob traders heading for Deharki, Khanewal from Pattoki, on Sunday.
Police said that the incident occurred at Khanewal Bypass wherein traders from Pattoki having a hunge amount of Rs6 million were held hostage by dacoits as soon as they crossed Khanewal Toll Plaza.
The dacoits jumped into their truck but the traders fiercely resisted the dacoity.
The dacoits opened firing but they killed their own accomplices and injured two other robbers.
Rescue 1122 shifted the injured robbers and traders to DHQ Khanewal for medical treatment.
A heavy contingent of police reached the crime spot and cordoned off the area and started further investigation into the matter.
