The National Speech Language Pathology Day was celebrated with fervor and zeal at Riphah International University, RCR & AHS, Lahore campus with the aim to raise awareness regarding the profession of Speech and Language Pathology and provide a platform for SLP/T’s whereby they can secure their professional and legitimate rights, share best international practices and clinical guidelines and latest research and approach the authorities for elimination of quackery as well as standardization of curriculum & accreditation of educational and research institutions and universities.
The chief guest at the ceremony was Director campus Prof Dr Muhammad Shakilur Rehman. The distinguished health professionals including Speech Language Pathologists/therapists (SLP/T’s), Physical therapists and heads of academic institutes graced the occasion. The ceremony began with the recitation of Holy Quran, Na’at, and welcome note followed by speech from the chief guest and thank you note by the Hod SLP deptt. The event was marked with a poster competition by the under graduate students of different semesters of BS Speech language Pathology. The winners of poster competition and High achievers of different semesters received certificates of appreciation from the chief guest.
Dr. Nazia Mumtaz Hod Speech Language Pathology Department shared that Riphah International University has been a pioneer in launching Masters program of Speech Language Pathology in Pakistan. Riphah International taking lead in providing Rehabilitation education from bachelors to masters and doctoral level and producing professionals.
