The rich tributes were paid to the great visionary and reformer of subcontinent Sir Syed Ahmed Khan at his 202nd birth anniversary, observed under the aegis of Aligarh Muslim University Old Boys’ Association (AMUOBA) and Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology (SSUET) at the campus.
Speaking on the auspicious occasion, the chief guest, Justice Haziqul Khairi said Majority of India attempted to crush the minority that resulted in the formation of Pakistan. There were two Muslim graduates in India, while Hindu graduates were around 846. Sir Syed Ahmed Khan had a futuristic approach and for the better future of Muslims, he initiated education movement and established a chain of academic institutes. He focused on getting scientific education. Sir Syed Ahmed Khan paved way for an independent state for Muslims of South Asia.
Sir Syed Ahmed Khan was the great educator and Islamic reformer. He pioneered modern education for Muslim community. We are though raising voice for Sir Syed Mission, yet failed to promote and implement it in its true spirit. Sir Syed Ahmed Khan gave an individual identity to the Muslims of South Asia as a Nation that caused for a separate country.
He disclosed that Sir Syed University is going to celebrate the 25th years of its establishment in the mid of December that will include seminars, workshops on different topics and a special programme for benefactors and founders of AIT and SSUET. Alumni and an inter-university drone competition in the memory of Shaheed Major Adeel Shahid. Sir Syed University will launch a new department of Cyber Security soon including Innovation Centre.
