The revelation about missing of nearly ten thousand women from Indian illegally Jammu and Kashmir since 2019 triggered at Press Colony in Srinagar on Thursday.

Indian Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra had told Rajya Sabha a few days ago that 9765 women the categories above and below 18 had gone missing from their homes in occupied Jammu and Kashmir since 2019, the year when India revoked Jammu and Kashmir’s special status and imposed strict military siege for months in the territory.

The protest was organized by Local Aam Aadmi Party workers who held placards bearing the question “Why? Who? Where? Missing 9765.”

AAP media committee Chairman Nawab asked IIOJK Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to give answers on all the missing women.

“We are asking why this happened and what is the flaw in your system? Who are these 9,765 and what is the reason behind their going missing? And where are those missing women? Are you doing anything to trace those missing people?” he asked.

Nawab also asked Sinha about ‘human trafficking’ taking place in the occupied territory.—KMS
