Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mahmood Khan while giving principle approval to commence evening shifts in two Higher Secondary Schools including Shahpoor and Nilooni of district Shangla has directed the concerned authorities to take necessary steps in this regard.
Chairing a meeting regarding Elementary and Secondary Education Department here at Chief Minister Secretariat, Mahmood Khan termed the promotion of education sector as the top most priority of his government and said that all the available resources were being utilized to ensure the availability of all the required facilities in public sector schools across the province and improve their standard with the aim to provide quality education facilities at their door steps.
The Chief Minister remarked that reforms initiatives under taken by the provincial government in education sector were yielding positive results and standard of public sector schools was improving adding that result oriented steps are being taken under a well devised plan to further improve it.
Appraising the Chief Minister about the need of starting evening shifts in the above mentioned schools of district Shangla, provincial minister Shaukat Yousafzai informed that due to the increasing number of students, there were no capacities to accommodate all the students in morning shift and as such students were facing difficulties in getting themselves enrolled.
He added that it was the high demand of the locals to start evening shifts in those schools to facilitate all the students in getting admission. Talking on this occasion, the Chief Minister said that besides increasing the capacities of the existing schools, new schools were also being established on need basis so that all the students get access to education in the province.
