In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian military establishment has further tightened restrictions following recent incidents of killings and protests in the Kashmir valley.

The personnel of Indian Army, Central Reserve Police Force and the dreaded Special Operations Group are carrying out surprise searches in various parts of Srinagar, Pulwama and Budgam districts.

Indian troops conducted identification parades in many parts of Srinagar city and outside areas where pedestrians were subjected to vigorous checking and frisking. Besides frisking the people, the troops demanded identity proof from them.

Meanwhile, all shops and business establishments remained closed at Iqbal Park and nearby markets in solidarity with the famous chemist M L Bindroo family.

The chemist was killed by unknown gunmen in highly deployed Indian forces area at Iqbal Park in Srinagar when he was in his shop.
“We closed our shops in solidarity with the family of deceased,” the shopkeepers said.—KMS
