Residents protest against stone crushers in Hassanabdal

Scores of charged and angry protesters of different localities on Monday staged a protest by blocking road leading to nearby stone crushers plant. An 8 years old girl received injuries after he was hit by a stone banged him after blasting in nearby stone crushers plant.

The residents of Kashmir colony, Mazzar colony and nearby areas came out from their houses and block the cement factory road to register their protest against uncontrolled excavations of stone by the crushers risking their lives and limbs, round the clock movement of loaded heavy vehicles, damages to their properties due to massive blasting and causing serious risk to earth, soil and environment.

Threatened by heavy blasting caused by the several stone crushers and an unresponsive administration, residents of the area have threatened to start agitation from the next month.

They said that due to massive blasting at the nearby stone crushers, the people especially elderly facing breathing problems due to massive air pollution to dust emitting from these stone crushers but a number of people were injured by hitting stones exploded due to blasting.
