In Gulshan-e-Iqbal, the Mohalla Action Committee staged a protest on Sunday with women and children participating against the occupation and illegal constructions by the builder mafia on the Ghaznavi Park.
Protesters held banners and placards with slogans against the occupation. Members of the apartment associations chanted slogans against the builder mafia.
The protest was attended by Syed Qutb of Jamaat-e-Islami Public Aid Committee, Sabir Ali, PTI MPA Arsalan Taj, MQM councilor and a large number of civil society and locals.
According to details, a protest was staged on Sunday against the occupation of lands of Ghaznavi Park in Gulshan-e-Iqbal Block-16 by the builder mafia.
Addressing the protesters, Gulshan-e-Iqbal Mohalla Action Committee convener and former UC Nazim Tayyab Khidr Baqi said that those who occupy park lands and build illegally are the enemies of a healthy society.
“We will not allow occupation of Ghaznavi Park land and will protest against builder mafia at every level.”
