Consul General (CG) of the UAE Bakheet Ateeq Al Rumaithi hosted a reception at a local hotel in honour of the leaders representing different faiths including Hinduism, Buddhism, Christianity, Sikhism, Parsi Faith and others.The reception was held in connection with the National Day of the UAE.
Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of Pakistan Observer Mr Faisal Zahid Malik also attended the reception on a special invitation.
He appreciated the UAE CG’s gesture of sharing the national day’s joys with leaders of different faiths.Speaking on the occasion, CG Rumaithi said it was a pleasant experience to break the bread with the leaders representing different faiths and sects.Only those nations that are united and give respect and regard to all their citizens without taking into account their faiths or sects can prosper and advance in the world, he said.
This also brings harmony, peace and unity in society, he said. it may be mentioned here that the National Day celebrations of the UAE are in full swing and the get-together of the interfaith leaders was part of those festivities. In this regard, major events of the UAE National Day will be held on Nov 26, 27 and 28 and will continue until December 2, 2024.
