The Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) and the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) have apprehended three most-wanted criminals in Karachi’s Gulzar area based on intelligence information. The arrested suspects—Hamidullah alias Tida, Abdul Rahman alias Rahman, and Muhammad Rafiq alias Thatha—are linked to multiple extortion and robbery incidents.
Authorities recovered weapons, ammunition, a motorcycle, and mobile phones used in the crimes from their possession.

Details indicate that Hamidullah alias Tida formed an extortion group in June 2024, which included Abdul Rahman and Muhammad Rafiq. On June 9, 2024, the suspects sent a gift package to music composer and singer Zeeshan Shehzad alias Shani, which contained two rounds, a photo of his son, and a ransom note. Subsequently, they called Shani, demanding a ransom of one and a half crore rupees and threatened to kill him if he failed to comply.

An FIR was registered at Gulzar police station regarding this incident. During the investigation, the suspects disclosed further crimes, revealing that on June 13, 2024, they sent a birthday gift package to Dr. Ambrin at the Sina Health Education and Welfare Trust in Korangi, which also included two rounds and a ransom note demanding five lakh rupees. They continued to send threatening messages and calls, leading to an FIR registered at the Sahil police station. Additionally, they had previously robbed the Sina

Health Education and Welfare Trust in October 2022, stealing a sum of 2.2 million rupees transferred to a bank, which they later divided among themselves. This incident was also documented in an FIR at the Korangi Industrial Area police station. The arrested individuals, along with the recovered weapons and stolen items, have been handed over to the police for further legal action.
