Rallies will be held across AJK on January 5


The Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir in a meeting held in Muzaffarabad, today, decided to hold meetings and rallies across Azad Jammu and Kashmir on January 5 on the occasion of Right to Self-Determination Day.

The leaders of the refugee organizations ad-dressing the gathering, said that rallies would be held all over Azad Jammu and Kashmir on January 5 to make the United Nations and the international community aware of their constitutional responsibil-ity towards the Kashmir dispute.

The speakers said that the Kashmiri people were demanding a free, fair and impartial plebiscite from the United Nations.

They added that it was the re-sponsibility of the international community to take steps to end the illegal military occupation of Jammu and Kashmir by India and give Kashmiris their birthright to self-determination.

It was also decided in the meeting that a rally would be held on January 5 from Burhan Wani Sha-heed Chowk to the UN observer’s office and a memorandum regarding the right to self-determination would be presented to international observers.

Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir Chair-man, Uzair Ahmad Ghazali, Azmat Hayat Kashmiri, Mushtaq-ul-Islam, Dr Muhammad Manzoor, Syed Hamza Shaheen, Usman Ali Hashim, Javed Ahmad Mughal, Raja Zakheer Khan, Hafiz Bilal Ahmad Farooqi, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, Chaudhry Mu-hammad Ismail, Muhammad Farooq Sheikh, Aslam Inqilabi, Chaudhry Muhammad Qasim and others were present in the meeting. —INP
