ISLAMABAD – The federal government appointed BS-20 Information Group officer Raisa Adil as the new Principal Information Officer (PIO), assigning her the additional responsibility of Executive Director General at the Press Information Department (PID).
According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Raisa Adil has been transferred from her position as Executive Director General of the External Publicity Wing (EPW) and posted as Executive Director General/Principal Information Officer, Press Information Department (PID), Islamabad.

The notification said the appointment has been made in her own pay and scale with immediate effect and will remain in force until further orders.
A seasoned information officer, Raisa Adil has over 20 years of experience working with media organizations and stakeholders. During her career, she has held several key positions in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, including Director General (HP-II) and Project Director of the Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) Media Cell.
She also served as Chairperson of the Central Board of Film Censors (CBFC), becoming the first woman to head the institution. In addition, she has served as Director General of PID Karachi, Director of the Audit Bureau of Circulation (ABC), and held senior positions in the Directorate of Electronic Media and Publications.
Raisa Adil also worked with international development partners, including the World Bank, USAID, and the European Union, on education sector reform initiatives in Sindh.
Throughout her career, she has led a number of institutional reforms in the Press Information Department, electronic media, publications, and circulation auditing, introducing initiatives aimed at improving efficiency and modernizing operations.
