Rains, gusty winds expected in Lahore, Punjab during Eid-ul-Adha days

LAHORE – Rains and gusty winds are expected in Lahore and parts of Punjab during Eid-ul-Adha days.

After a dry day on Eid-ul-Adha (Monday), rains and gusty winds are expected in Lahore and parts of Punjab on the following days of this week.

Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan. A Shallow westerly wave will enter the northern parts of the country on Monday.

Under these conditions, rain-wind/thunderstorms with few heavy falls are expected in Rawalpindi, Murree, Galyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Khushab, Sargodha, Bhakkar and Mianwali from June 18 (evening/night) to  June 22 with occasional gaps.

Rain-wind/thundershowers are also expected in Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Dera Ghazi Khan, Sahiwal, Multan, Khanewal, Lodhran, Muzaffargarh, Rajanpur, Rahimyar Khan and Layyah from June 20 to June 22.

Lahore’s maximum temperatures will likely remain between 43-45 °C on Monday and Tuesday.

Meanwhile, hot and dry weather prevailed in Lahore and most parts of Punjab during the last 24 hours.

Jhelum, Joharabad, Bhakkar, and Gujranwala remained the hottest places in the province where the maximum temperature was recorded at 47°C. The maximum temperature in Attock, Bahawalnagar, Noorpur Thal, Hafizabad, Layyah, Kasur, Mandi Bahauddin, Mangala, and Sargodha was recorded at 46°C.

In Lahore, the maximum temperature was recorded at 44°C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 24 percent.
