KARACHI – Rain-wind/thunderstorms with isolated hailstorms are expected in Karachi, Hyderabad and parts of Sindh from February 29 to March 01 (Thursday-Friday).
As per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a strong westerly wave is likely to approach western parts of Pakistan on February 29. It may grip most parts of the country on March 01, and persist till March 02.
Under the influence of this weather system, rain-wind/thunderstorms are expected in Sukkur, Jacobabad, Kashmore, Larkana, Dadu, Shaheed Benazirabad Karachi, Hyderabad, Thatta, Badin, Khairpur and Mirpurkhas from February 29 to March 01 (Thursday-Friday). Isolated hailstorms are also likely during the period. Wind-thunderstorm/hailstorm may damage loose structures like electric poles and solar panels. Dry weather is expected on Tuesday evening/night and Wednesday.
Karachi’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 15-17 degrees Celsius on Wednesday and Thursday.
Hyderabad’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 12-14 C on Wednesday and Thursday.
Meanwhile, dry weather prevailed in most districts of Sindh during the last 24 hours. However, Jacobabad received 26 mm rain, Larkana, Mohenjo-Daro and Rohri 05 mm each, Khairpur 04 mm and Sukkur 03 mm.
Dadu remained the coldest place in the province where temperature dropped to 09 C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 76 per cent.
In Karachi, minimum temperature was recorded at 17 C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 49 per cent.
In Hyderabad, minimum temperature was recorded at 14 C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 69 per cent.
