Rain in different parts of the provincial metropolis, coupled with winds, on Sunday turned weather pleasant, making the Lahorities to enjoy the holiday with their families.
On the other hand, rain also left different areas of the city without power, causing multiple problems for the citizens. Several areas of the city lost power due to technical glitches and burning of transformers.
Several areas of Gulshan-e-Ravi, Samanabad, Rajgarh, Davis Road, Haji Park, Sagyan Road, Urdu Bazaar, Nishat Colony, Ahmed Town, Thokar Niaz Baig, Garhi Shahu and Qila Gujar Singh experienced prolonged power outages after rain.
Accumulation of rainwater also caused traffic jam on various arteries of city.
The Meteorological Department has predicted intermittent rain during the next 24 hours. The minimum temperature in Lahore was recorded at 27 Celsius while the maximum temperature was recorded at 36.
Meanwhile, Wasa Vice Chairman Sheikh Imtiaz Mahmood urged all the officers to stay in the field in view of the rainy weather. He said that they should visit the disposal stations and ensure the presence of staff there. While reports of rain coming from the control room meteorological department should be conveyed to the field in time.
