Railways retrive land near Chanesar Halt

An anti-encroachment operation conducted jointly by Karachi Railways and district police near Chanesar Halt concluded on the first day despite stiff resistance in the form of firing and stone-pelting.

Twenty residential units spread over 10,000 square feet area have been completely demolished by the authorities during Friday’s operation.

The illegal settlements have been constructed on right-of-way area along the track that will be completely uprooted.

Three railways’ policemen have sustained minor injuries during the anti-encroachment operation.

Divisional Superintendent Pakistan Railways Karachi MuhamnadHanif Gul felicitated the officers and staff over their endurance and fearless action on the first day of operation.

He ordered the registration of First Information Report over the protestors involved in adopting violent means during the operation.
