Railways Minister did not run circular train, but local train, says Hafiz Naeem

Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman while rejecting the plan to run local train in the name of circular train demanded that the circular railway be diverted to its original route Drug Road Station, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Liaquatabad, Nazimabad to Orangi Town station. He called for repairing all stations coming in the way of circular railway, restoring ticket houses and said that the settlements being evacuated near the railway tracks should be given alternative places, flyovers should be constructed above the railway gates. Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehmansaid the next phase of Jamaat-e-Islami’s “Haq Do Karachi Campaign” to beannounced soon. He expressed these views while addressing a press conference at Noor-e-Haq regarding the obstacles faced at the launch of Karachi Circular Railway and other civic issues. Former Deputy Nazim of Gulshan-e-Iqbal Town Engineer Saleem Azhar also expressed his views at the press conference. Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Information Secretary Zahid Askari was also present on the occasion. Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman said that the federal government should stop serious jokes with the citizens of Karachi in the name of circular railway. Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid has not run a circular local train. This route was inaugurated in 2005 during the reign of Nematullah Khan. The Karachi Circular Railway bridge in Nazimabad was demolished after orders of the Chief Justice of Pakistan to remove the obstacle in the restoration of the circular railway, but Railway Minister Sheikh Rashid did not take any action, responsible for the loss of billions of rupees. Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman said that circular train is not being run on the existing track in the city, local train is being started only to impress the Supreme Court. Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman said that out of Rs. 18 billion for Karachi now Not even Rs 4 billion has been spent till now. In the PML-N era, Rs 27 million was set aside for Karachi Circular Railway in 2017, but during the PTI era, Rs 300 million was set aside for one year.
