IT was third anniversary of Raddul Fasaad on Saturday — counter terrorism operation that was launched in 2017 in urban areas of the country after terrorist sanctuaries in tribal areas were neutralised. The intense nation-wide operation against terror groups, steered by Army Chief Qamar Javed Bajwa successfully thwarted hundreds of terrorist plots and prevented terrorists to disrupt life across the country, giving a great sense of security to the people.
Undoubtedly, the operation was not an easy job by any measure as security forces had to deal with residual/latent threat of terrorism, and the overall law and order situation today clearly shows that our forces remained successful in achieving the difficult task. It is the outcome of improvement security situation today that other countries are now revising their travel advisories and more people are looking towards Pakistan as a peaceful tourist destination. The entire nation salutes the sacrifices rendered by the armed forces and law enforcement agencies in anti-terror operations. The security personnel especially those who embraced martyrdom during the process are our real heroes and the nation will never forget the ultimate sacrifice they rendered for the sake of a better and peaceful future of the country. In fact our forces achieved which many other advanced forces equipped with all latest weaponry could not achieve in neighbouring Afghanistan. They proved and did so time and again that it is the will, resolve, determination and courage coupled with passion for martyrdom that is more important than latest machinery and weaponry in the fight against enemy. The world has much to learn from our armed forces to deal with these terrorists.
In his message on the occasion, the Army Chief Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa said gains made during the past two decades of war on terror would be consolidated to achieve enduring peace and stability for Pakistan and the wider region. This emphasis clearly shows that country’s forces are not complacent at all and are fully alive to the threats posed by internal and external elements. The remnant elements should not be provided with any opportunity to undermine peace in the country and operation Radd ul Fassad should continue till their complete elimination. There is ample need to redouble political and administrative efforts to ensure complete peace in Balochistan for earliest completion of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project. Peace and stability in Balochistan is also very important for overall development of the country.
