Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar called on Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi Saturday in Foreign Office, wherein both leaders discussed the current coronavirus situation and other affairs of mutual interest.
The Punjab Governor briefed the foreign minister about proposed special security arrangements to be made in Punjab on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha in view of the coronavirus pandemic. Shah Mahmood Qureshi said the spread of Covid-19 was reduced by taking timely measures against the pandemic. The foreign minister stressed that implementation over precautionary measures must be ensured.
The Punjab Governor also congratulated Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi on his recovery from Covid-19 while the Foreign Minister extended special thanks to the Governor of Punjab for his prayers and best wishes during his illness Both leaders also exchanged views on the coronavirus epidemic, Kashmir issue, political situation and other affairs of mutual interest. The Punjab governor also informed FM Qureshi about the contacts he made with the European and British parliamentarians over Kashmir issue. Shah Mahmood Qureshi apprised Punjab governor’s efforts to highlight the Kashmir issue.
“India is moving away from other countries of the region, being exposed before the world and facing defeat on every platform. Pakistan is standing by Kashmiri brothers and sisters”, FM Qureshi affirmed.
