As a practical step towards promoting family theatre, the Government of Punjab presented the theatre play “Friends of 70s” at Lahore Arts Council, Alhamra. The opening performance received an overwhelming public response, with a full house, sustained laughter and enthusiastic applause demonstrating that quality family theatre continues to hold a special place in the hearts of audiences.
A strong storyline, engaging plot, well-developed characters and quality dialogues are among the prominent features of “Friends of 70s”. Set against the social and cultural atmosphere of the 1970s, the play beautifully portrays family life, human relationships, neighbourhood communities and the simplicity and social values of a bygone era.
