LAHORE – The Punjab government is all set to launch the first-ever Livestock Card scheme 2024 for farmers to provide them interest-free loans.
The project was approved by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz while presiding over a meeting regarding provision of facilities to people involved in the livestock business. The chief minister says the government wanted to make the livestock farmers independent economically.
Officials told the chief minister that the interest-free loan will be provided to male and female dairy farmers in rural areas of South Punjab. They said over 40,000 farmers will be able to get benefit from the scheme.
The loan amount will be used to buy animal food.
, Jun 08 (APP): Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has approved the Punjab Livestock Card project which will grant Rs250,000 interest-free loans for animal feed.
The CM presided over a meeting here on Saturday relating to livestock in which important projects were granted approval. The chief minister directed to simplify the stages to acquire loans for the livestock farmers along with formulating a scheme for dairy farming in South Punjab. The CM said, “We want to put livestock farmers of Punjab on the path to economic independence.”
Loan Limit under Punjab Livestock Card Scheme
Under the Livestock Card scheme, the farmers will be given soft loan of up to Rs270,000 through the for purchasing wanda, silage and mineral mixture facilities in Punjab.
The farmers will require to pay their loan in 90 days through the Punjab Livestock Card.
Furthermore, the livestock care will be facilitated through ‘Animal Identity Traceability System’ in Punjab. The farmers will be provided with facilities to undertake free tagging of animals, free insemination services along with wanda (feed) and silage quality testing facilities.
