LAHORE – Two students sustained injuries following an explosion at the Punjab Institute of Neurosciences (PINS) on Tuesday.
Malfunctioning of equipment at the research laboratory of PINS caused severe burn injuries to Mudassar, 28, and Salman, 22 – students of Allied Health Sciences.
One received 80 per cent burn injuries while the other 20 per cent and both were referred to Jinnah Hospital.
While confirming that malfunction in the lab’s machinery led to the incident, PINS administration has initiated probe.
The administration is closely monitoring the situation to ensure the safety of all individuals within the institute, PINS officials say.
