The Punjab government is taking all possible measures for eliminating poverty from the province and different programmes are being implemented for this purpose.
This was stated by the Chairman, District Bait-ul-Mal Committee, Hafizabad, Muhammad Arshad Butt while addressing a mass marriage ceremony held at Sukheki Mandi, on Sunday.
The arrangements of mass marriages were made by the local philanthropists President Bazam Zakar Habib Sukheki Mandi Rana Iqbal Hassan Togeervi, Members Municipal Committee Sukheki Mandi Nasrullah Bashir Sokhal, Malik Maqsood Ahmad, Saith Iftikhar Husssain Papu, Saith Sarfraz Hussain, Hamid Yaseen Kambho.
Ten couples were tie-noted with marriage relation to each other in the ceremony and all expenditure of the marriages was borne by the local philanthropists.
Dowry and other gifts were given to brides while lunch was also served on this occasion to all participants.
Chairman Bait-ul-Mal Muhammad Arshad But assured that financial assistance would be provided to deserving people for marriages of their daughters on propriety basis from Bait-ul-Mal funds in future.
He said that Bait-ul-Mal would provide marriage grant to poor and deserving people before marriage of their daughter so that they could make expenditures of marriages without any difficulty.
He invited well-to-do people to come forward for provision of financial assistance to the poor and down trodden people to lessen their problems for blessing of almighty Allah.
Later, Chairman along with members of District Bait-ul-Mal Committee visited Dialysis centre at Rural Health Centre Sukheki and appreciated working of the centre.
