The Punjab government has decided to sack provincial Advocate-General Ahmed Awais as secretary law and justice sent the summary in this regard to Punjab chief minister on Tuesday.
The summary reads that under articles 140 and 105 of the constitution as
well as under the Government of Punjab’s rules of business, the government has the right to either appoint or terminate the services of the AG.
It is recommended in the summary to assign additional responsibilities of the attorney general to Additional Advocate General Malik Akhtar Javed after Awais’s removal.
