Punjab cultural day celebrated in Hafizabad

Punjab Cultural Day celebrated in the district Hafizabad, in this connection, a walk was taken out from District Complex led by Deputy Commissioner Umer Farooq Warraich. Chief Executive Officer Education Wazir Ahmad Agha, ADCR Imtiaz Ali Baig, ADCG Ishfaq Ahmad, DO Education Mian Abdul Majeed, teachers, officers and citizens belong to different segment of society participated the walk. Chief Executive Officer Education Wazir Ahmad Agha tide traditional Punjabi cotton turban to DC Umer Farooq.

While talking on the occasion, DC Umer Farooq Warraich said that Punjab Cultural Day was celebrated to create awareness among people especially students and youth regarding Punjabi Culture, customs, local values and traditional as well as to keep alive ancient Punjab Culture. Different functions were also arranged in the schools and colleges of the district to celebrate the day. Teachers and students attended the classes to wear Punjabi address.

Meanwhile, Population Welfare Department also celebrated Punjab Cultural Day. District Population Officer Hafizabad Sajida Mushtaq told that different aspect of Punjabi Culture were highlighted in the programmes held at population welfare centres in the district.

Meanwhile Deputy Commissioner Umer Farooq Warraich said that free of cost flour will be givnen during holy month of Ramazan to peer and deserving people registered under Benazir Income Support programme.
