LAHORE – Punjab Forest Department continued crackdown against timber mafia.
Last day, Attock Forest Division conducted a successful targeted operation against the illegal transportation of stolen timber.
During the operation, a Suzuki Bolan (LE-5112) carrying illegal wood was seized. The wood had been brought from Qalandarabad in the Abbottabad district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The seized vehicle and timber have been taken into custody under the Punjab Forest Act 1927 (Amendment 2022) for legal proceedings.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has reaffirmed her commitment to protecting the province’s valuable forest resources at all costs. The crackdown against land grabbers and those involved in illegal logging will continue with full force.
Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb praised the swift and professional action of the Attock Forest Division and stated that the Forest Department will continue to reclaim more lands from the land mafia through rapid measures and will persist with the crackdown on the timber mafia.
