LAHORE – Punjab Secretary Excise, Taxation & Narcotics Control Muhammad Masood Mukhtar claimed on Thursday that since August 2025, Punjab CNF conducted 269 intelligence-based operations across the province.
“These operations led to the seizure of over 13.2 tons of narcotics, valued at nearly Rs. 310 million, along with the arrest of hundreds of suspects and the registration of 156 FIRs,” said the secretary.
He said the Punjab Counter Narcotics Force (CNF), established under the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Ms. Maryam Nawaz Sharif, demonstrated exceptional performance within just three months—signifying a decisive new phase in the province’s war against drugs.
He emphasized that the Chief Minister’s clear directives, unwavering support, and strict zero-tolerance policy have enabled CNF to evolve into a highly efficient, modern, and proactive force.
He expressed these views while presiding over a performance review meeting of Punjab CNF at his office.
The Secretary shared that
the recoveries included large quantities of drugs, 56 illegal weapons, 11 quadcopters, and various equipment used by drug syndicates. This comprehensive crackdown, he stated, reflects CNF’s capability to disrupt and dismantle major organized drug networks operating in Punjab.
Referring to recent judicial developments, Secretary Masood Mukhtar termed the conviction of two major drug traffickers in Faisalabad—each sentenced to 14 years imprisonment along with fines of Rs. 400,000—as a “landmark judicial action.” He said the verdict sends a strong and unambiguous message: drug trafficking will not be tolerated under any circumstances in Punjab.
Highlighting public participation as vital to the anti-narcotics campaign, he informed that the CNF helpline 1012 is operational 24/7, enabling citizens to report drug-related activities with complete confidentiality. He urged the public to actively support the government in purging society of this menace.
Concluding the meeting, Secretary Muhammad Masood Mukhtar reaffirmed the department’s commitment, stating:
“Punjab CNF stands as the true reflection of the Chief Minister’s vision. We are determined to eliminate drug networks in their entirety. Our mission is clear and unwavering—A Drug-Free Punjab.”
