The 6th meeting of the Punjab Cabinet, under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, on Tuesday gave in-principle approval for the issuance of Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Kisan Card on Tuesday.

The Punjab Cabinet also agreed to allocate Rs10 billion seed money to the Central Business District Authority (CBDA) for the establishment of the Nawaz Sharif IT City in Lahore.

The Punjab government ordered strict implementation of the ‘one-dish rule’ in wedding events — which promotes austerity and discourages exhibitive trends among citizens.

The provincial chief executive approved restoring free-of-cost medicines for cancer patients. Other decisions include approval to the issuance of Kisan Cards, recommendations for wheat procurement, cash subsidy to small farmers, a digital system for monitoring the prosecutor department’s performance and increasing standards of the first information report. CM Maryam also ordered strict implementation of the one-dish rule at wedding parties. The Punjab Cabinet agreed to assign the powers of enforcement of Section 144 to the Deputy Commissioner in the province.
