Punjab has introduced the eTransit Punjab App and T-Cash Card to offer commuters a modern, secure, and cashless public transport system, marking another step forward in the province’s digital transformation efforts.
The electronic fare collection system, developed by the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) in collaboration with the Transport Department and the Punjab Mass Transit Authority (PMA), allows passengers to pay fares digitally, eliminating the need for cash while making travel faster and more convenient.
Through the eTransit Punjab mobile application or the T-Cash Card, commuters can access Metro Bus and Electric Bus services on a unified digital platform. The system removes the hassle of purchasing physical travel tokens and reduces waiting times by enabling quick and seamless fare payments, improving efficiency and enhancing the overall passenger experience.
PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf described the initiative as a major milestone in advancing digital transportation across Punjab. He said the project aims to provide citizens with a secure, convenient, and technology-driven travel experience while reinforcing PITB’s commitment to delivering innovative digital solutions that improve public services, transparency, and citizen convenience.
He added that the initiative would simplify daily travel for thousands of commuters while encouraging digital payments, improving service delivery, and supporting the government’s broader vision of smart governance. According to him, the adoption of digital technologies will help create a more connected, efficient, and future-ready public transport network across the province.
The eTransit Punjab App is available for free download on both the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store, allowing commuters to begin using the digital fare system immediately.
