Punjab asks federal govt to release further Rs19b of PSDP


The Punjab government on Monday approached the federal government to get its due share in the PSDP.

As per details, Punjab could not get a PSDP share in proportion to the population from the federal government.

The Punjab government contacted the federal government for PSDP share and has requested to release Rs19billion more in funds.

Punjab has asked the federal government to release more for the improvement of the communication system in the road sector.

It said that the issuance of Rs19billion was indispensable for carrying out the improvement work of the roads sector.

Punjab government said they are short of Rs35billion this year allocated for the completion of the projects and there is an urgent need to complete the projects and if the funds are not issued in time, the cost of these projects would be doubled.
