Public urged to make plantation drive a success

Tree plantation is in fact a great charity and trees not only provide oxygen but also make environment beautiful and pleasant, said Jhang Deputy Commissioner Fayyaz Ahmed Mohal on Friday.

He said that all-out efforts are being made to make Jhang a green and vibrant district.

He expressed these views while addressing a meeting held in connection with the Clean and Green Pakistan Campaign.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Shahid Abbas Joya, Assistant Commissioner Qasim Gul, CEO Health Dr Syed Artzaul Hasnain, Divisional Forest Officer Syed Jawad Hussain, Chief Officer Municipal Corporation Asif Qureshi, Azhar Abbas Adil, Zaigham Baloch, Manan Kokab, Zafar Abbas and officers of all departments were also present.

The DC stressed that it is a national responsibility to follow a systematic strategy for tree plantation in entrances and exits of the district, greenbelts, open spaces and public places across the district to provide a pollution-free environment to the public.

“If this responsibility is discharged wholeheartedly, the results will be good.

Let our students, members of the Tiger Force and government departments continue to work together.

There is a need to create awareness among the people to create the spirit of tree plantation”, he underscored.

Fayyaz Ahmed Mohal said that the PM’s Clean and Green Pakistan campaign is also an important link in this chain.

He said that tree planting in brick kilns, petrol pumps, sports grounds and open areas should be our priority, adding that merely plantation is not enough but their constant care and maintenance is very important.

All stakeholders should prepare a tree plantation plan and complete their targets within the stipulated time.

Meanwhile, a meeting of the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) was held with it chairmanship, Deputy Commissioner Fayyaz Ahmed Mohal in the chair.

Also present in the meeting were Secretary RTA Javed Iqbal, Chief Officer Municipal Corporation Asif Qureshi, Municipal Officer Finance Muhammad Mehboob, DMO Muhammad Zafar Abbas, DSP Medium Zahida, SDO Highway Ehsanullah Cheema, Sub Inspector Ghulam Abbas and other concerned officers.

On the occasion, the DC said that it is responsibility of the government to provide best facilities to public at General Bus Stand.
