LAHORE – The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) on Tuesday retrieved public land worth tens of millions of rupees during operations against land grabbers and encroachments in Lahore’s Subzazar Housing Scheme.
LDA teams retrieved 32-kanal land worth tens of millions of rupees from illegal occupation in Subzazar L-Block. LDA teams also retrieved a plot from land grabbers in H-Block.
LDA teams removed encroachments in the close vicinity of Subzazar Hospital. Teams also removed encroachments and debris from vacant plots, and demolished illegal barriers and gates from different blocks of Subzazar.
Meanwhile, LDA teams sealed 10 premises during operations against illegal commercial buildings and commercialization fees defaulters in Faisal Town.
The sealed premises include hotel, pet food shop, tyre shops and other businesses. LDA Director Town Planning Zone-III Sidra Tabassum supervised the operations carried out by the enforcement teams with the help of Police.
As per the LDA officials, several notices were served to these buildings’ owners before carrying out the operations. LDA Director General Tahir Farooq has directed continuing indiscriminate operations against violation of building bylaws, encroachments and illegal commercial use in Lahore.
