After Islamabad, the government on Monday imposed Section 144 in Karachi too as part of its efforts to contain Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s November 24 protests.Section 144 will remain effective for seven days. Also, authorities in Karachi have banned entry of the general public to the Karachi Airport and the surrounding areas.
The decision has been taken due to security threats.Malir SSP Kashif Abbasi said access to the areas near the Karachi airport too has been restricted. Only people with travel documents will be allowed to enter the airport. Police and Rangers personnel have been deployed at five points around the airport at five places.
