The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s senators on Monday submitted a condemnation resolution regarding the events of May 9 in the Senate, in which they strongly condemned attacks on military installations. The senators strongly deplored the May 9 violent protests and moved a resolution in the upper house of the Parliament to condemn the mayhem. These senators include Faisal Saleem, Seemi Ezdi, Falak Naz Chitrali, Zarqa Saherwardi, Humayun Mohmand, Zeeshan Khanzada and others.
After the resolution was submitted, the senators also held a press conference in the Parliament House. Faisal Saleem stated that they condemn the events of May 9 and have submitted a resolution in the upper house. He said that whatever happened on May 9 was very bad and added PTI is the first party that has moved a condemnation resolution in the Senate? “We are very sorry, this is our country and we are ashamed,” Saleem said on the violent protests that broke out after Imran Khan’s arrest in Al-Qadir Trust case. “We are from Pakistan Army and stand firm and united with the forces.” Seemi Ezdi mentioned that her family has a connection with the military, and they couldn’t even imagine an attack on military installations. She emphasized that those involved in the incident should be given punishment. She strongly condemned setting Jinnah House and Radio Pakistan Peshawar building on fire and demanded a transparent inquiry into the violent clashes to identify the responsible behind the violence?
Senator Falak Naz said that May 9th was the unluckiest day of her life. She condemned the attempts to tarnish the memorials of Pakistan’s martyrs and damage their properties. She said that her brother and nephew are serving in the armed forces. She said that Pakistan and Pakistan Army come first before party affiliation. She also condemned the desecration of the martyrs on May 9 and attacks on military installations. PTI lawmaker of the upper house of the Parliament, Zeeshan Khanzada also strongly condemned the riots. Dr. Zarqa Saherwardi stated that they strongly condemn what happened on May 9th. She said that they are Pakistanis first and everything else comes after that. She said that they believe that those involved in the events of May 9th should face real consequences, and innocent people should be released while cases should be taken up in the courts of law.
The resolution states that they strongly condemn the attacks on military and historical buildings.
