ISLAMABAD – A local court in Islamabad on Monday granted bail to Arooba Komal, a social media activist from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), in a case registered under the PECA Act.
Judicial Magistrate Shabbir Bhatti of the District and Sessions Courts Islamabad approved Arooba Komal’s bail against a surety bond of Rs50,000.
The petitioner’s counsel contended that two other women had already been granted bail in the same case and that Arooba Komal is not named in the FIR.
Previously, Arooba Komal was sent to jail on judicial remand by Duty Judge Mureed Abbas. PTI spokesperson Roouf Hassan stated that the case against Arooba Komal and other activists is registered under the PECA Act.
