The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lost another wicket as its former Punjab Coordinator TanveerJutt parted ways with the party and formally joined Pakistan Peoples Party on Thursday. TanveerJutt held a meeting with PPP Central Punjab Acting President RanaFarooqSaeed and expressed confidence in the party leadership.

“The PPP warmly welcome you,” said RanaFarooqSaeed while congratulating TanveerJutt at the party’s Model Town Secretariat. The PPP Central Punjab president also garnered him a party muffler on the occasion.

“The PPP has public support and it always comes into power with peoples’ votes,” said RanaFarooqSaeed.

The joining ceremony witnessed the presence of several notable political figures, including Dr. KhayamHafeez, SabirBhola, Rana Tariq, RanaTalha, Rana Rashid, and RanaFaraz.

TanveerJutt expressed his delight at returning to his political roots and becoming a part of the PPP.

This is another wicket which the PTI lost in less than a week’s time as previously three women leaders including Andleeb Abbas, SadiaSohailRana and SumairaBukhari joined Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP).

TanveerJutt, however, did not address any press conference –which has now become a routine matter for many quitting the PTI.

The women leaders, however, talked to the media and said that they were parting ways with the PTI just because they wanted to serve the people.

“We have to look forward, we have to see the cause. An individual and the party cannot be big from a cause. So, our cause is the common man. When a common man leaves his home he does not know how to meet his needs,” said Andleeb while addressing a joint-press conference. She based her stance on the problems of the common man and made “cause” as the main reason to quit the PTI and join the IPP.

She regretted that the people sold out their motorcycles and jewelry items to pay electricity bills. A common man, she said, was struggling to buy even a simple fever tablet for his child.

“Over 100 million have been suffering from different problems,” said Andleeb Abbas.

She further said that the people were not living a life; they were just living. She claimed that a man shot his daughter dead due to poverty.

“So, we are here for a cause,” she added.

SadiaSohailRana said that she is happy that she is back with her former colleagues.

“We are here today beyond our associations with the parties. I just want to work for the people,” said Sadia. Sadia who is a two-time MPA was of the view that she did not have any political background but she worked for the people and wanted to work more for them.

SumairaBukhari said that she was happy that they were sitting together once again, and she was grateful to her colleagues for the warm welcome.

“The purpose of our unity is just for the sake of the country. Our people are our strength. And the women like us who had no political backgrounds have united again for a common cause of serving the people,” said Sumaira.

“In my view, people like us must play a role to end aggression in our society,” she said, hoping that they would be successful for their main cause.
