Following a meeting between the delegations of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), both the parties rejected the February 8 general elections, calling it “rigged and unfair”.

Addressing a joint press conference, JUI-F leader Hafiz Hamdullah said both parties agreed that the recent polls could not be called “fair and transparent”.

“Both the parties also agreed that this election will not bring political and economic stability [in the country],” he added.

The JUI-F leader further said that recent general elections were fake and rigged, adding that it was not a “public mandate”.

On his part, PTI leader Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif said that his delegation met with the JUI-F leadership on the direction of Imran Khan.

“Talks were held in a pleasant atmosphere,” he said, adding that both parties would continue the discussion with the same approach.

The PTI leader said that they would also contact other parties.
