Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan on Monday while expressing displeasure over performance of patwari system, warned patwaris to mend their ways as this government was committed to extending instant relief to masses.
Addressing a joint meeting of commissioners and deputy commissioners from across the province here, the chief minister cautioned those key officials of the district level to keep eye on patawris’ performance and initiate action against those who were involved in malpractices.
He underlined the need for the commissioners to make their masses’ welfare-oriented measures more effective and so that people could realize that the government was truly working for their betterment. The chief minister directed for ensuring presence of public representatives at open court(Kuli Kucheries) to resolve masses’ problems on the spot. The chief minister also directed for constitution of a joint team for food checking to provide quality edible items to public. He was of the view that separate raids of different law enforcing agencies had irked people so the concerned authorities should look into it.
He said directed the district management officer to facilitate masses with regard to revenue department like ‘Fard and land commutation issues etc. He said several problems were identified during land computerization process and these should be fixed at the earliest, he added. He also directed for expediting work on traffic plan in divisional headquarters to overcome traffic related issues.
He said the government was taking tangible measure to make development free from corruption so effective monitoring mechanism should be evolved to close check on development projects in districts. He said he would personally visit to districts of the province to examine situation as a result of initiatives. He asked the commissioners and deputy commissioners to practical measures for provision of best services to masses as putting things on presentations would not serve the purpose.
Meanwhile Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government was taking serious measures to extend relief to masses and successfully resolving their problems at their doorstep.
As part of such efforts, Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has launched a public outreach campaign and on Monday he established direct telephonic contact with people who visited various departments such as Patwar Khana and police stations.
He inquired about problems people faced in those departments and directed the concerned authorities to take immediate measures for removing bottlenecks, obstructing dispensation of instant relief to masses.
During those contacts, the chief minister garnered first hand information about facilities of public departments for masses and asked about complaints such as corruption or unusual delay in resolution of masses’ problems. Mahmood Khan warned officials of legal action for showing negligence in facilitating or providing services up to the masses’ satisfaction.
