Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has given finishing touches to its preparations to hold intra-party elections on the directives of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) scheduled for today (Saturday), which is a clear sign of the party’s unshakable commitment to the democracy and unwavering belief in the rule of law.
PTI Spokesperson said that the PTI’s founding chairman Imran Khan was the main torchbearer of the democracy among the political parties, which was evident from his incessant and relentless efforts to introduce, inculcate and strengthen democratic values and norms in the party.
He recalled that the PTI was the only political party that had made several attempts to conduct intra-party elections in true sense, which was unprecedented in Pakistan because leadership of the rest of the political parties in the country did not believe in democratic values that could be judged from the fact that they never conducted genuine intra-party elections.
PTI Spokesperson reiterated that the PTI also held intra-party elections last year according to the law, however, he added that in order to set a great example of respect for the law, the party decided to hold the intra-party election again despite the illegal decision of the electoral watchdog declaring the PTI’s intra-party poll null and void.
He emphasized that PTI Chairman buried the traditional hereditary and family-limited politics and set a great example of democracy by nominating a hard-working, loyal and capable worker of the party for the slot of the party chairman.
PTI Spokesperson made it clear that the PTI completed all the preparations regarding holding the intra-party elections.
He pointed out that the elements who were hell-bent to keep PTI out of the politics and electoral process through conspiracy and coercions have once again unleashed their touts and agents into the field to sabotage the party’s intra-party elections.
However, he made it clear that like before, these conspiracies were doomed to fail and PTI would proceed towards its destination while staying within the purview of the constitution, law and democratic values.He pointed out that the elements who were hell-bent to keep PTI out of the politics and electoral process through conspiracy and coercions have once again unleashed their touts and agents into the field to sabotage the party’s intra-party elections.
PTI spokesperson vowed that the PTI would once again prove its unflinching commitment to the survival and strengthening of democracy as well as the rule of law in the country by holding intra-party elections according to the law unlike the political parties dominated in the country’s politics for decades.
