PTI demands investigation into Maqsood’s sudden death

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Central Secretary for Information Farrukh Habib said that sudden demise of the Sharif family’s peon Malik Maqsood aka ‘Maqsood Chaprasi’, nominated in the money laundering case against Shehbaz Sharif and his family, raised many eyebrows because many important people related to the Sharif family’s cases died abruptly.

Speaking at a press conference, he said that millions of unaccounted-for money were found in Maqsood’s bank accounts and had been living in Dubai for long despite the fact that he was employed for Rs. 10,000, because Sharif family kept him in their safe custody.

He said that Sharif family had a history of blackmailing in order to get relief, as they tried to blackmail Imran Khan for NRO, but he always said no. Farrukh Habib said that the sudden death of Dr. Rizwan, FIA director, probing Rs. 16 billion money laundering case, and now the death of Maqsood Chaprasi in Dubai was quite alarming, because Sharif family was known for committing corruption, erasing evidence and witnesses.

He said that the Supreme Court rightly called them ‘Godfather of Sicilian Mafi’, because when they took the reign there sole purpose to loot and plunder the national wealth ruthlessly instead of doing anything for the public good.

Therefore, he said that the death of Maqsood Chaprasi must be investigated to ascertain the real reason of his sudden passing away and bring the responsible to book.

He added that the Sharif family always ridiculed Pakistan’s constitution, law and institutions. Reacting to Maryam Safdar’s presser, Farrukh Habib said that she was doing nothing but making all hue and cry to evade the accountability, as she failed to present a single piece of evidence in corruption cases but just resorting to level allegations against Imran Khan to get public attention.
