Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Sindh Assemblymembers Muhammad Owais and SajidHussain Mir have submitted a resolutioncondemning the labeling of permanent Pakistani citizens as “migrants.”The resolution was submitted to the Secretary provincial Assembly ofSindh.In their resolution, Muhammad Owais and SajidHussain Mir emphasizedthat every Pakistani citizen has the legal right to reside in any regionof Pakistan, in accordance with the Constitution of Pakistan, whichgrants equal rights to all citizens.
They further highlighted thePakistani Citizenship Act of 1951, which ensures that all individualsresiding in Pakistan before 1971 are considered Pakistani citizens.The resolution categorically states that no Bengali, Bihari, Burmese, orAfghan who holds permanent Pakistani citizenship can be labeled as amigrant. Anyone possessing valid Pakistani citizenship should not bereferred to as a migrant or considered a foreigner, as this is againstthe law.
