KARACHI – The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) opened the new business week with bullish trend as KSE-100 index has crossed the 94000 points milestone amid record buying.

During intraday trading, the 100-index recorded gains of 728.34 points to reach 92,020.02 points as compared to previous close of 93,291.68 points.

The recent surge in the stock market can be attributed to a combination of domestic and international factors.

After a period of economic instability triggered by inflation, political uncertainty, and external debt concerns, the Pakistani economy has now started showing positive indicators. The government has taken steps to address fiscal deficits, reduce the current account deficit, and make progress on structural reforms.

Pakistan’s engagement with international financial institutions like the International Monetary Fund (IMF), along with the disbursement of loans, has provided a sense of fiscal security. The recent approval of IMF loan tranches, along with support from other countries has instilled investor confidence.

The government’s policy changes, including tax reforms, steps to increase revenue generation, and curbing inflation, have had a positive impact on market sentiment.
