KARACHI – The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has reached an unprecedented achievement on Monday, surpassing both the 173,000 and 174,000 points milestones for the first time in its history.
This significant feat comes amid strong investor confidence, highlighting a bullish trend in the market.
At the time of reporting, the PSX index stands at 174,174.81 points, marking an increase of 1,774.08 points, or a 1.03% gain.
The market saw a high of 174,205.47 points and a low of 173,200.41 points during the session, with a trading volume of 24,859,974 shares and a total value of Rs 2.61 billion.
This historic surge comes as the market continues to show positive momentum, driven by growing optimism among investors. The market’s strong performance is a reflection of robust trading activity in the early sessions, with the potential for further gains as the day progresses.
In previous session, the benchmark KSE-100 Index on Friday closed bullish, gaining 1,570.51 points, a positive change of 0.92 percent, to settle at 172,400.73 points compared to 170,830.22 points on the previous trading day, according to PSX data.
During the session, the ready market witnessed a trading volume of 797.999 million shares with a traded value of Rs 38.062 billion, against 811.558 million shares valuing Rs 29.795 billion in the previous session. Market capitalization increased to Rs 19.465 trillion from Rs 19.361 trillion a day earlier.
Out of 482 active companies in the ready market, 221 advanced, 229 declined, while 32 remained unchanged.
