PSL 6: Remaining matches are likely to be played in Lahore

A good news for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) lovers, as the remaining matches of the 6th edition were likely to be played in Lahore, the sources said on Tuesday.

The sources said that Pakistan cricket board (PCB) would make announcement regarding the fresh schedule for PSL 6th edition after three days.

They claimed that the Punjab government gave positive response to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) regarding the remaining matches of PSL 6 in Lahore.

According to the sources, PCB Chairman Ehsan Mani asked the franchise owners to wait for three days before taking any decision.

Pakistan Super League’s (PSL) 6th edition was earlier postponed owing to the increasing Coronavirus cases among the national and international players.

Punjab government Monday has given a green signal to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for arranging the remaining matches of country’s biggest cricket league, PSL in Lahore.

According to a local media outlet, the remaining matches of Pakistan Super League 6 (PSL) will soon be played in Lahore.

The PCB is also set to announce the new schedule of the PSL 6 after 3 days, said the news outlet.

In this regard, PCB chairman Ehsan Mani has asked the PSL 6 franchises to wait for 3 days before taking any other decision.

Earlier, the sixth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) was called off due to the increasing Coronavirus cases among the officials and national, international players.

PCB had formulated a strategy for holding the remaining matches of the sixth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 6) in May this year.

It was believed that May is the only window for arranging the event. Otherwise the season may be in danger of being voided.

PCB Chief Executive Wasim Khan, expressed confidence that they would find time to complete the league as they are already looking at various options.

“We will be looking at other windows and we hope to play the event at a later time,” he added.

Earlier on Thursday, in a press statement, PCB stated that following a meeting with the team owners and considering the health and wellbeing of all participants is paramount, the board has decided to postpone the Pakistan Super League sixth edition with immediate effect.—AP
